How accurate is Ubudu RTLS ?
Ubudu's Hybrid RTLS system provides high accuracy in location tracking, thanks to its use of various technologies and sensors.
With Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, Ubudu can achieve distance measurements between devices with an accuracy of 10cm, making it highly precise. This high level of accuracy can be leveraged event in complex environments such as manufacturing plants and warehouses.
Furthermore, the positions of a tag can be calculated with an accuracy of 30cm with our TODA (Time Difference of Arrival) system.
In addition to UWB, Ubudu also uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, which provides an accuracy of between 2-5m depending on the environment. This can be useful in environments where precision is not as critical.
Moreover, Ubudu leverages other sensors such as accelerometers to improve the accuracy of the positions calculated. With Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, the positions can be updated every 100ms at best, providing real-time visibility of the location of objects or people being tracked. On the other hand, with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, the positions can be updated every second at best. This lower update frequency may be sufficient for applications such as tracking customers in a retail store or monitoring the location of equipment in a warehouse.
To optimise battery consumption, Ubudu tags can be configured to have a different advertising frequency when in movement and when idle. For example, the tags can be set to advertise their location more frequently when they are in motion, allowing for more frequent updates, and reduce the advertising frequency when they are idle, extending the battery life.
