"Ubudu" does not mean anything in particular. When we started the company in 2011, we were looking for a short startup name for which the domain name was available and reasonably priced. François was just back from Bali where the cultural capital name is "Ubud" and this is how the word came into play. Although from our initial project the company shifted his business model to the current one we kept the company's name as we like the almost perfect symmetry of wording which is also reflected in our logo.

Our focused expertise in location based services (LBS) especially indoor which span from hardware, RF to end user software in more meaningful low energy RF technologies such as BLE, UWB and LORA makes a stand up in the crowd. Our platform is among the solutions which are the most complete in the market, we have also a very open approach and are able to integrate third party hardware and software.
By developing our hybrid RTLS platform, we give our customer the ability to address simultaneously different types of requirements and optimise their ROI by tailoring investment and deployment costs to their use case. Furthermore our platform is totally elastic and can run on-premise on small or large deployments or as Software As a Service (SaaS).
Ubudu large R&D investments and ramp up was financed by the co-founders and private investors with strong and diversified business backgrounds in technology, strategic consulting, finance and healthcare. Several of Ubudu investors have an active counselling role in our day to day activities on top of our governance bodies.
The company was recently profitable and is financially healthy.
During early time of Covid-19 pandemic we demonstrated incredible resilience and agility to launch in record time our Social Distancing Assistant which compensated the sudden stop of on-site technology investments.
